About 1,000 residences in Independence lost power this morning for less than an hour, according to city police.
Police said the disruptions to service were sporadic in a large area of the city generally bounded by Truman Road on the north and 31st Street on the south.
The cause of the disruption wasn’t clear but police said city power sources attributed it to equipment.
Power was out before 11 a.m. but restored in most cases by noon.
