Ark City motorcyclist killed near Oklahoma casino

An Arkansas City man was killed late Sunday night after the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a car on U.S. 77 just south of the Kansas-Oklahoma state line.

Robert Michael Muhlenbruch, 41, was southbound about 10:25 p.m. when his 2002 Honda motorcycle was hit by a 1996 Toyota Camry exiting the First Council Casino parking lot, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

Muhlenbruch was pronounced dead after being taken by ambulance to an Arkansas City hospital, the report said.

Hanh Tran, 60, of Wichita, was identified as the driver of the Camry.

She failed to yield to Muhlenbruch as she pulled out of the casino's parking lot about 6 1/2 miles north of Newkirk, Okla., the report said. The motorcycle struck the rear of the driver's side.

Tran and her passenger, Dinh Thi Vo, 82, also of Wichita, were not injured, according to the highway patrol.
