Northeast Kansas student faces charges after lewd photos found on school-issued computer

HOLTON, Kan. | A northeast Kansas high-schooler faces charges after a teacher found lewd photos on his school-issued laptop.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reported that the 17-year-old boy was charged last week with disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and sexual exploitation of a child.

At issue are photos that appear to be of two teenage girls.

Holton school district superintendent Nancy Meyer says the student became violent when he was approached about the pictures.

Capt. Ben Peven of the Holton Police Department said Tuesday that teen was still in custody.

A pretrial hearing in the case is scheduled for Oct. 7.
