There’s a slight chance of showers this morning in the Wichita metropolitan area, forecasters say, but then skies will begin to clear and set the stage for a warm, dry weekend.
Highs today should reach the upper 80s, with south winds in the low teens. Gusts could top 20 miles an hour, forecasters say. The last weekend of the Kansas State Fair should be pretty warm for mid-September, with highs in the low 90s under sunny skies. Southerly winds will be gusty again Saturday, topping 20 miles an hour.
