KU chancellor briefs Board of Regents on athletic department developments

TOPEKA | University of Kansas Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little says she's close to naming a search committee to find a new athletic director.

Gray-Little told the Kansas Board of Regents on Thursday that she was nearly finished gathering input on who would be on the committee to find a replacement for Lew Perkins, who resigned abrubtly on Sept. 7.

Gray-Little also briefed the regents on changes in oversight in the athletics department in the way of a $1 million ticket scalping scam.

Two former athletics department employees have pleaded guilty to federal charges in the case.

Gray-Little said changes in how the tickets are distributed and accounted for were also in place.
