Five drivers were arrested for driving while intoxicated late Wednesday and early Thursday in downtown Kansas City.
An impaired driving saturation patrol conducted across the downtown area by the Jackson County Traffic Safety Task Force resulted in more than 30 individuals being cited for various violations. Authorities arrested one individual on a felony narcotics charge involving cocaine, and arrested two others for possessing marijuana.
The Kansas City, Mo. police DUI Unit worked with the Grandview Police Department and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office during the patrol, which lasted from 9 p.m. Wednesday through 3 a.m. Thursday.
The Jackson County Traffic Safety Task Force conducts such checks about twice a month, said Lane T. Eitel, sheriff’s office spokesman.
