Appeals court to hear case of teacher accused of having sex with underage youth

TOPEKA | The Kansas Court of Appeals has been scheduled to hear the appeal of a sentence given to a woman accused of having sex with an underage boy.

Jennifer Dawn Liskey pleaded no contest in 2009 to aggravated indecent liberties and criminal sodomy after being accused of having a sex with a boy for three years, beginning when he was 13.

A Shawnee County District Court judge sentenced Liskey to three terms of 30 months each, but suspended the sentences and put Liskey on probation.

Shawnee County District Attorney Chad Taylor immediately appealed and wants Liskey re-sentenced.

Liskey, who is now 40, was a paraprofessional at Robinson Middle School in Topeka when she met the victim. The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that the appeals court is scheduled to hear the appeal of her sentencing Tuesday.
