Election commissioner recommends counting 820 of 1,200 provisional votes

Sedgwick County election commissioner Bill Gale is recommending canvassers count 820 of 1,200 provisional ballots cast in last week’s primaries.

That represents about 60 percent of questionable votes.

Reasons a vote may be provisional are that a voter went to the wrong polling place or had moved and not updated their registration.

This morning’s canvass is not expected to change the outcome of any results.
