One man died in a double shooting early Sunday morning in the 2300 block of Mercier Street in Kansas City, police said.
The victim, who officials did not immediately identify, was a man in twenties. He died at an area hospital of his injuries after being shot near Cesar Chavez Avenue and Mercier.
Another man, also not identified, was shot at the same location. He refused emergency medical treatment for a non-life threatening injury.
Police, who were called to the scene just after 4 a.m., are investigating. No other information was immediately available. Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477 (TIPS).
