WICHITA — Two people were hit by bullets after someone fired into a group of people standing outside a home in south Wichita Tuesday night, police said.

A 19-year-old man was treated for a gunshot wound to the foot, and another 19-year-old man was hit in the hand by a bullet, police said.

They were among a group of three adults and three minors who were the apparent target of shots fired at about 9 p.m. in the 2200 block of West Lotus, which is northwest of Pawnee and Seneca.

People in the group recognized an 18-year-old man as the shooter, and police found the suspect a short time later and took him into custody.

He was arrested following questioning. A second suspect was questioned but not arrested, according to police.

The shooting victims were treated at Wesley Medical Center.
