Wichita couple charged with child endangerment

WICHITA — A Wichita couple has been charged with child endangerment, after prosecutors say they left their 7-month-old child home alone last month.

Christopher and Misti Heroux are set for a preliminary hearing Sept. 20. They were charged last week with felony aggravated child endangerment.

Wichita police said they responded to a call at about 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 20, when they found the infant boy alone in his crib in a duplex near 29th Street North and Tyler.

The parents didn't arrive until just after midnight to their home in the 9000 block of West Meadow Park Court, police said.

The boy was taken into protective custody, police said.

The couple also have school-age children from previous marriages, court records show.

If convicted, the couple would likely receive probation.
