Trial set for Wichita lawyer on indecent liberties charge

WICHITA — A Wichita lawyer has been set for trial, charged with fondling a 12-year-old girl.

Sean Shores pleaded not guilty to aggravated indecent liberties with a child following a preliminary hearing this afternoon.

Retired Judge Ronald Innes heard the case, because Sedgwick County district judges have recused themselves, because of Shore's job, and tentatively set trial for Dec. 6.

The girl, now 13, testified that she knew Shores through her school.

If convicted, Shores could face 25 years to life in prison.

Shores is out of jail on his own recognizance while awaiting trial in lieu of $20,000 bond.
