Dollar General store robbed again

WICHITA — Another Dollar General store was robbed this weekend, but this time police have a solid lead on the man who may be responsible for a series of hold-ups at branches of the store around the city in recent weeks.

The Dollar General at 1206 W. Douglas was robbed at 8:40 p.m. Sunday, police said.

The suspect was a white or Hispanic male who had a blue bandanna covering his face, along with a white hooded sweatshirt that had the word "Adidas" in white on the front, an employee told police. He had a mustache and wore a black shirt.

Officers responding to the report of the robbery spotted a pickup matching the description of the getaway vehicle and pursued it in the area of Central and Nims, police said.

The pickup was able to elude officers, but authorities have a tag number and have since learned the identity of the suspected robber.

Dollar General stores on West 13th and West Pawnee were robbed the first week of September. The store on West 13th has been robbed twice in a three-week period.
