Man arrested after meth labs, stolen property discovered in Hutchinson

A Hutchinson man has been arrested on suspicion of weapons and drug-related offenses, Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson said.

On Friday night, a sheriff's deputy was patrolling in an area where previous drug search warrants had been served when he detected a strong odor of anhydrous ammonia. That fuel is commonly used in the manufacturing of methamphetamines.

A search warrant was obtained and two operational meth labs were discovered in the area of 5300 East Fourth.

Additional search warrants for stolen goods uncovered seven truckloads of items, including 20 guns, tools, electronics and a stolen vehicle.

The suspect in the crimes is being held on $200,000 bond. Detectives are attempting to match property with its rightful owners.
