Victim of bus shelter shooting death is identified

Kansas City police today identified the victim of a bus shelter killing on Thursday as Montra Johnson of Kansas City.

Johnson, 36, was at a bus stop on 12th Street near Brooklyn Avenue when he was shot multiple times. Suspects reportedly fled the scene in a silver car.

The shooting occurred just before 12:30 p.m. in a busy commercial area.

Police have not revealed a motive for the killing and ask anyone with information to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).

Johnson’s killing was the city’s sixth homicide this month and the 79th this year.
