Four people were burned this afternoon — two critically — in an occupational accident near Mulvane.
Emergency dispatchers said the accident occurred about 2 p.m. in a field next to the Kansas Turnpike on the Sedgwick-Sumner county line.
Initial reports said the four were burned by asphalt, but dispatchers said additional details were not immediately available.
One of the critically burned victims was flown by air ambulance to the burn unit at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis. The others were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
