WICHITA — Native Kansan A.J. Boleski will be Intrust Bank Arena's next general manager, the arena's management company announced today.

He is scheduled to start July 26, according to SMG, a private company that runs the arena under a contract with Sedgwick County.

The arena's previous general manager, Chris Presson, resigned in April, saying he wanted to spend more time with his family.

Boleski now works for SMG at a 7,500-seat arena in Huntington, W.Va. He was previously director of event services at the Canton Memorial Civic Center, an SMG-managed facility for the city of Canton, Ohio, according to a news release.

Boleski is a Kansas native who graduated with bachelor's degrees in management and marketing from Fort Hays State University in 2001.

He has worked for SMG since his first job at the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka where he was event and sales coordinator.
