Law enforcement training class graduates today

Nearly two dozen new law enforcement officers will graduate and be sworn in at a ceremony this morning in northwest Wichita.

The ceremony will be at 10 a.m. at the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center, 7001 W. 21st St. North. The graduating class features 14 Wichita police officers, five Sedgwick County Sheriff’s deputies and one public safety officer for Mid-Continent Airport.

The cadets have completed 23 weeks of basic training at the Wichita/Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center. They will soon start 12 weeks of field training, which pairs them with veteran officers and helps them apply classroom training to practical situations.

A reception follows the graduation ceremony.
