WICHITA — Bond was set today at $1.5 million for a Wichita man charged with stabbing his stepson to death.
Charles E. Williams, 54, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Donald Carter, 27. He also was charged with aggravated battery for allegedly inflicting non-fatal stab wounds on Carter's mother.
Wichita police said Carter was stabbed Monday night after he went to his mother and stepfather's home in the 1500 block of South Hydraulic.
The mother was stabbed when she tried to intervene in the dispute, police said.
Williams' preliminary hearing was set for Aug. 19.
