For the first time in a week, Wichita won’t be tolerating triple digit temperatures.
In fact, highs will barely nudge the 90s, thanks to a cool front that brought showers to the region Wednesday evening and early this morning. A few more scattered showers are possible this morning, forecasters say, and skies will stay partly to mostly cloudy much of the day.
Winds will be out of the north in the teens today, and lows tonight will slide to the low 70s. Friday will also seem more comfortable than the past week, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-90s.
But hotter temperatures will return for the weekend, forecasters say, with highs reaching the upper 90s on Saturday and triple digits by Sunday.
