Wichita set another heat record today, recording a temperature of 109 degrees at 3:06 p.m.
That blazing-hot high was a notch higher than Monday's 108-degree broiler -- also a record breaker.
Today's high topped the 108 degrees recorded on this date in 1964.
An excessive-heat warning remains in effect until 9 p.m.
Today marked Wichita's fifth-consecutive day at the century mark or higher; the record stretch was 20 days in a row, set in August 1936.
