Woman with Alzheimer's, 78, missing from a midtown nursing home

Kansas City police searched late Wednesday for a 78-year-old woman whom officers said walked away from a nursing home just north of the Country Club Plaza around 7 p.m.

Police described Helen McGlothen as a light-skinned black woman with gray braided hair wearing a green and white blouse. Officers said she has Alzheimer’s disease and is not familiar with the area around Plaza Manor Nursing Center, 4330 Washington St.

Kansas City police ask anyone who finds McGlothen to call the Central Patrol division at 816-234-5510 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (816-474-8477).
