WICHITA — A burglary was foiled and two suspects were arrested Tuesday morning when a neighbor noticed something suspicious and called police.
The home being burglarized, in the 1700 block of North Fairview, had recently suffered fire damage and the 62-year-old owner was not living there at the time of the burglary, said Lt. Darras Delamaide.
A neighbor noticed a car parked behind the house and called 911 shortly after 7 a.m. When officers arrived, they caught one suspect coming out of the home's back door, which had been forced open, and another suspect was found walking down Fairview.
The two suspects, ages 58 and 48, were in possession of several stolen credit cards, and a sawed-off shotgun was found in their car. One suspect told the police he found the shotgun in a Dumpster on the property.
