WSU's commencement set for May 14-15

WICHITA — More than 2,300 students are eligible to participate in Wichita State University's spring graduation, May 14-15 at Koch Arena.

Undergraduate and graduate degrees will be presented during individual college ceremonies.

Derby city manager Kathy Sexton will be the commencement speaker for the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, which has about 870 students eligible to participate. Those exercises will begin at 3 p.m. May 14.

Graduation schedule, approximate number of students eligible to participate and speakers for the other colleges:

* College of Health Professions: 7 p.m. May 14; 300 students; speaker: Ed O'Malley, president and CEO of Kansas Leadership Center.

* W. Frank Barton School of Business: 8 a.m. May 15; 415 students; speaker: Craig Barton, president of WFB Inc., a real estate development company.

* College of Education: 11 a.m. May 15; 345 students; speaker: Barry Downing,entrepreneur.

* College of Engineering: 2 p.m. May 15; 270 students; speaker: Lynn Bertuglia, Black & Veatch.

* College of Fine Arts: 4:30 p.m. May 15; 115 students; speaker: Chris Brunner, sculptor.
