Boil order lifted in southeast Kansas City after water passes tests

Kansas City’s Water Services Department has lifted the boil water advisory for the area south of Gregory Boulevard, east of Interstate 435, west of Booth Avenue and north of 77th Street.

Results from samples collected in the area yielded no evidence of contamination, laboratory manager Lorene Lindsay said.

A water sample taken Friday from a recently-installed fire hydrant at 7400 Sycamore Ave. tested positive for E. coli contamination. As a precautionary measure, the Water Services Department issued a boil order Saturday for the area, but that order has now been lifted.
