Bounty hunter accidentally shoots himself

A bounty hunter trying to apprehend a man wanted on warrants had his gun go off as he ran Thursday night, wounding himself in the thigh, police said.

The incident occurred at about 9:15 p.m. Thursday next to the QuikTrip at Central and Oliver, police said.

The man being pursued escaped, and the 46-year-old bounty hunter was taken to Wesley Medical Center, where he is in serious condition today.
