Pretty Prairie woman remains critical after collision

WICHITA — An 82-year-old Pretty Prairie woman remains in critical condition at a Wichita hospital today, a day after she was hurt in a two-vehicle collision in rural Reno County Tuesday morning.

Mary Siebert was driving north on Whiteside Road behind a tractor at about 8 a.m. Tuesday, Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson said. The car followed the tractor through the intersection with Trail West Road, where it was struck in the driver's side door by an eastbound vehicle on Trail West.

Siebert and her husband, Cecil, were transported to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis. Cecil Siebert is in serious condition today, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The driver of the second vehicle, 24-year-old Levi Mitzner of Abbyville, is in fair condition at the same hospital. Both Mitzner and Mary Siebert were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
