Singer Bret Michaels won't perform at River Festival

WICHITA — Wichita River Festival officials confirmed this morning that Bret Michaels will be unable to perform on the opening night of the Wichita River Festival.

Michaels, who was scheduled to perform a post-parade concert on May 7, was hospitalized Thursday night after suffering a brain hemorrhage.

The festival is now looking for a replacement performer for the opening night show.

Michaels was the lead singer of the rock band Poison and is also a contestant on the reality TV show "Celebrity Apprentice."
