Motorcyclist injured after flying into pickup bed

A motorcyclist is in serious condition today after an unusual early-morning accident.

The cyclist was traveling east on Pawnee toward Rock at around 2 a.m., reports KFDI, when he rear ended the back of a pickup truck he was following.

He flew into the pick-up's bed, but the driver of the truck didn't realize it. The pickup driver found the cyclist in the truck bed when he arrived at his friend's house about a mile from the crash site.

The driver, who was uninjured, called 911, and the cyclist was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Speed was a factor in the crash, police said. No names were released.
