Five wounded in KC drive-by shooting

Five people were injured early this morning in a drive-by shooting on Kansas City’s East Side.

Kansas City police were called to the 5800 block of Olive Street at about 12:30 this morning to investigate a shooting. They discovered five victims.

Police said a car drove by as the victims were standing around a car parked in the street. Someone in the car fired numerous gunshots at them.

Two men in their 20s were taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 13-year-old boy was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The other two victims (a man and woman in their 20s) refused treatment at the scene for minor gunshot wounds.

Police said the car sped away after the shooting, and no suspect information is available at this time.
