LAKE OZARK, Mo. | A meeting is planned Monday to discuss improving water quality in the Lake of the Ozarks.
The Lake of the Ozarks Water Shed Alliance is hosting the meeting at the Lodge of the Four Seasons.
The group's executive director, Donna Swall, says the focus of the meeting will be moving away from septic systems along the shoreline.
Concerns have been raised that failing septic systems contribute to high E. coli bacteria levels in the lake.
Swall says presenters will discuss how to move toward a regionalized wastewater system.
Attending the meeting will be officials with the Environmental Protection Agency, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Many of the commissioners from the four-county region surrounding the lake are expected to attend as well.
