DUI checkpoint in KC yields 28 arrests

A sobriety checkpoint Friday near the Charles B. Wheeler Municipal Airport netted 28 drunken driving arrests, Kansas City police reported.

Additional tickets police issued included four for child endangerment, two for having a revoked or suspended license, three for hazardous moving violations, one for a seatbelt violation and three for being minors in possession of alcohol.

Police checked 1,037 vehicles in the northbound lanes of 169 Highway and Lou Holland Drive beginning about 11 p.m.
