Suspect identified in shooting near Atwater Neighborhood City Hall

WICHITA — Police are looking for a 16-year-old boy who has been identified as the person who fired shots at two teens near Atwater Neighborhood City Hall, where about 25 children were playing on Wednesday night.

No one was injured in the incident, which occurred at about 6 p.m. at 2750 E. 18th, police said.

The shooting was reported by the mother of 16- and 17-year-old boys who were the apparent targets, police said. About a half-dozen witnesses identified the suspect, who was seen in a vehicle described as a Ford Excursion or Expedition SUV — painted black above and silver below — with silver wheels and tinted windows.
