Web site names KC a top 10 foodie town

The editors at www.livability.com have made Kansas City No. 4 in their "most livable cities in America to find the 10 most surprisingly vibrant places for foodies to flex their taste buds."

"These are cities and towns where gourmands can find undiscovered gems, from farmers markets to independent restaurants to unique hometown favorites. And with unparalleled quality of life in each locale, these aren't just some of the best cities for food—they're great communities for everyone," the story says.

The editors cited the fresh meat and produce and a proximity to agriculture in creating their list, and specifically Kansas City's barbecue tradition and Stroud's fried chicken.
