Metro Squad hands over Shawnee homicide case to police

The Metro Squad has ended its investigation into the homicide of Shawnee resident Curley M. Tyler.

The Shawnee Police Department Major Case Squad has taken over the investigation and is still asking for the public’s help in locating Michael T. Lewis, a person of interest in the case.

Police think Lewis may be driving a blue two-door 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass with chrome wheels and Kansas license plate 684-CKV.

A family member found Tyler’s body about 7 a.m. April 4 outside the victim’s apartment complex in the 6300 block of Cottonwood Drive, police said.
