A Haven couple whose quadruplets were born last month at a Phoenix hospital returned home to Kansas today, tired but smiling.

"We're all running on very little sleep right now," said Lance Morrisett, the babies' father and minister at Haven Church of Christ.

"But they've been great. ... We're looking forward to getting back home."

Morrisett and his wife, Jennifer, arrived at the Wichita airport shortly before noon. Their older son, 5-year-old Cullen, wore a T-shirt that proclaimed, "Greatest Big Brother."

The babies, tucked into the seats of two double strollers, slept quietly as the family greeted relatives and church members.

The quadruplets — three boys and a girl — set a combined weight record for the Arizona doctor who delivered them March 1. The babies weighed 20 pounds, 7 ounces all together.

One airport passerby, Alicia Smith, stopped to look at the babies and congratulate the Morrisetts.

"I have a 2-year-old and that's hard enough," Smith said, shaking her head. "Four? At once? I'd be praying 24/7."

Lance Morrisett said that's exactly what he does, adding that the quadruplets were the answer to many prayers.

"They're so little, all they do now is eat, sleep and go to the bathroom," he said. "We know that's gonna change."
