One of two men hurt in truck crash dies

WICHITA _ One of the two men injured early this morning when their truck crashed and overturned near Douglas and Grove has died, authorities said.

A Park City man in his 20s who suffered serious head injuries when he was thrown from the truck in the crash was pronounced dead at 9:57 a.m. at Wesley Medical Center, police said.

The crash occurred at 2:13 a.m., Wichita police said. The truck was heading north on Grove when the driver lost control of the vehicle. It left the street, struck a metal street light, then a concrete barrier wall and overturned before hitting a tree.

Police now say they are not sure who was driving the truck at the time of the crash.

An 18-year-old Park City man who was in the truck was also thrown from the vehicle and sustained cuts, bruises and facial fractures. He was also taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Police are still trying to determine the name of the man who died.
