Police are investigating a homicide in Riverside, where a man died of gunshot wounds Tuesday evening.
Around 7:20 p.m., emergency crews responded to the El Chaparral Apartments in the 4900 block of Northwest Gateway Avenue on a call of an “unresponsive male subject.”
There they found the victim, who was in his late 20s or early 30s, said Officer Brent Holland of the Riverside Police Department.
Firefighters began first aid, and a MAST ambulance took the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have no information on any possible suspects.
The Major Case Squad will begin investigating the homicide this morning.
