Two people suffered serious injuries this morning when a driver lost control of her Jeep and it ricocheted off of a guard rail and concrete barrier on Interstate 70.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reported that a child in the vehicle also suffered minor injuries.
The accident happened at 2:10 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway east of Woods Chapel Road. The 26-year-old driver from Kansas City, who was not wearing a seat belt, and a 33-year-old Grandview man in the vehicle, who was wearing a seatbelt, were taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The child was also using a safety restraint.
