Police arrested 13 motorists for driving under the influence during an overnight sobriety checkpoint west of downtown Kansas City.
Kansas City police officers and Jackson County sheriff’s deputies stopped 125 vehicles during the operation from 11 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. today. The checkpoint was set up at 13th Street and Pennsylvania on the entrance ramp to southbound Interstate 35.
Besides the 13 DUI arrests, one person was arrested for driving with a suspended license and another for a hazardous moving violation. There were three arrests for other traffic violations.
