Deb Voth will become the new president of Rainbows United Inc., effective March 1.

The agency's board of directors unanimously elected her Tuesday.

Voth has been with the organization since 1993 as chief operating officer.

"We have complete confidence that her leadership and experience will continue to take the agency into the bright future," Steve Cox, chairman of Rainbows' board of directors, said in a written statement.

Voth received a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Kansas and a master's in education from Wichita State University.

Before working at Rainbows, she spent 13 years as director of the Early Education Center in Hutchinson.

Rainbows also announced that Hale Ritchie, who has volunteered as chief restructuring officer since August 2009, will become a member of the Rainbows board of directors effective March 1.

Rainbows United serves more than 2,000 special-needs children and their families throughout Sedgwick and Butler counties.
