WICHITA — A 21-year-old Wichita man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for an arson that caused nearly $300,000 in damage to an apartment building, U.S. Attorney Lanny Welch said today.

Francis A. Mlaga pleaded guilty to one count of arson.

In his plea, he admitted that on Aug. 24, 2009, he set fire to Ashbury Court apartments, 1940 S. Woodlawn, where he lived, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
