KANSAS CITY, Mo. —Two men have been charged with the theft of farm equipment over a multistate area.
Matthew T. Jones, 31, and Ryan R. Hanzlick, 32, were arrested Thursday. The investigation and arrests were part of a joint investigation with the Thomas County Sheriff's Department, the Hayes County Sheriff's Department in Nebraska, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, and the FBI in Kansas and Nebraska.
The two were charged Wednesday with 12 counts for the transport and transfer in interstate commerce of stolen merchandise. According to the indictments, the thefts took place between November 2005 and April 2008 and involved large farm equipment from Wyoming, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado.
Hanzlick was arrested in Hayes Center, Neb., and Jones in Colby.

If convicted, both men face a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison on each count.
