WICHITA — Starkey Inc. has been awarded a $35,000 grant from the Lattner Family Foundation for its Earl and Mathilda Goebel LIGHTHouse Project.
The LIGHTHouse Project is three homes for people with intellectual disabilities and dementia. The homes will provide a community living experience until skilled nursing care is required. The homes currently are under construction in west Wichita.
This is the second $35,000 gift for the project from the Lattner Family Foundation. It made a similar donation in 2008.
Starkey helps develop and promote the independence of people with intellectual disabilities through a variety of programs. It currently serves 443 individuals.
