Burglar backs through store's doors, steals cigarettes

WICHITA — A burglar disdained the minimalist approach when he broke into a convenience store this morning — and the price he paid may prove more costly than what he netted in his heist.

The man backed his pickup through the front glass doors of the Kabredlo's convenience store at 11931 W. Central at 1:25 a.m. today, police said. He then loaded 70 or 80 boxes of cigarettes into a yellow tub and drove off.

When he hit the store's doors, police said, the robber broke the back window of his black 1990s pickup. The store has surveillance video, which showed that the suspect is a black male about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds.

He was wearing a black stocking cap, a white zip-up jacket with black lettering, a black T-shirt with yellow and white letters on it, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
