Tree lighting ceremony set for Wednesday at Friends University

WICHITA — The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Friends University begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on the second floor of the Davis Administration Building.

The Singing Quakers will lead the crowd in singing "O Christmas Tree," "Silent Night" and "O Holy Night."

Charles Parker, associate professor of drama, will read "A Christmas Story," and a skit will be performed by Acts of Faith.

The ceremony is sponsored by the Friends University Falcon Activities and Campus Events Special Events Committee.

The evening ceremony will be highlighted with the lighting of the Christmas tree on Rose Window Plaza. The university's clock tower will not be lighted this season due to damage from a summer hailstorm.
