A west-central Missouri woman died Wednesday last night after a one-vehicle crash north of Harrisonville.
Rescue crews pronounced Misty D. Morris, 29, of Adrian, Mo., dead at the scene. A passenger, Brandi L. Graham, 36, of Butler, Mo., and an infant, Jacob T. Morris, were also in the vehicle. Graham was airlifted to Research Medical Center with serious injuries and the younger Morris was taken by ground ambulance to Children’s Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.
Morris was driving southbound on along U.S. 71 before 5:30 p.m. when her vehicle veered off the road on the left side, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol crash report. She veered back onto the road, overturned, and the vehicle came to a rest on its wheels. She and Graham were not wearing seatbelts and were thrown from the vehicle, the report said.
The infant was in a safety restraint seat.
The investigation into the cause of the crash continues.
