Firefighters are trying to determine the cause of a two-alarm fire late this afternoon that caused extensive damage to a west Wichita Dollar General store.
Emergency dispatchers said the first alarm came in at 5:23 p.m. at the store at 515 S. Dugan after someone noticed smoke coming from the back of the building.
Customers and employees evacuated the building before the first fire crews arrived and found thick smoke pouring from the building.
A damage estimate was not immediately available, but the building appeared to have suffered heavy smoke and fire damage. No injuries were reported.
