Kansans asked to share favorite research finds

To help celebrate October — the state's Archives Month — the Kansas State Historical Records Advisory Board is asking Kansans to share their favorite research finds on a blog.

The state advisory board picked October to help promote awareness of historical records and the need for their preservation.

The blog, which so far has few entries, is located at:

On the blog, Kansans are encouraged to share one or two of their favorite documentary treasures— such as letters, diaries, photographs, or government records.

This year, the Kansas State Historical Records Advisory Board has begun an awareness campaign based on the theme "Historical records are everywhere."

Besides the blog, the board will also collect information about the documents and treasures held in Kansas institutions, such as historical societies; museums; county governments; libraries, colleges, and university special collections and archives.
