Arrest made in KC student's homicide in Atlanta

ATLANTA | Atlanta police have arrested a 21-year-old man in the death of Spelman College student Jasmine Lynn of Kansas City.

Police say Devonni M. Benton was arrested at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and was charged with murder and aggravated assault. They say they don't know if he has obtained a lawyer.

The 19-year-old Lincoln Prep grad was killed early on Sept. 3 when she was struck by one of six shot fired by someone in a group involved in an altercation on the street as she walked along the Clark Atlanta University campus with a group of friends.

Deputy Police Chief Carlos Banda says police believe it will be the only arrest in the case. He says police think Benton fired all six shots.
